Program Coordinator (Secondary) will approve entry into the ITD teaching area for students with past trade qualifications and experience.
Prior to commencing the course in week 1 students will need to create an account with AutoDesk (or similar software). Students will need consistent and quality access to the internet in order to maintain access to the course materials and online workshops.
Synopsis
This course provides opportunities for pre-service teachers to develop the ability to utilise CAD software to create digital models which can be uploaded to prototyping and modelling equipment commonly used in schools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and other CAM technologies. Some coding and robotics are included in this area, as well as a requisite knowledge of electronics components and circuitry which underpins the understanding of modern technology. The course will also focus on the basic maintenance requirements of commonly used equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
