This course provides the opportunity for a student to pursue an area of study in science that will complement the other program studies. Typically, the course will consist of specialised investigations extending knowledge and skills in a certain area. The area of study chosen will be approved after consultation with the examiner. On completion of this course students are expected to have gained expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills in a body of knowledge or practice to independently analyse critically, reflect on and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts and theories.
